Who should take metoclopramide?

Metoclopramide is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) in individuals for whom other therapy does not work. It also can treat symptoms of diabetic gastroparesis, which is a digestive condition in diabetics where the stomach empties too slowly. In addition, metoclopramide may be used to prevent nausea and vomiting in individuals who have surgery or chemotherapy.
