Who should not use hydroxyzine?

Hydroxyzine should not be used unless prescribed by your doctor. It is not approved for use during pregnancy because it can harm an unborn child. In some cases, your child's doctor may prescribe hydroxyzine in limited and monitored doses. Hydroxyzine should not be used if you are allergic to the drug or have an allergy to any ingredient in the liquid, capsule or tablet forms. To avoid allergic reaction, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about the ingredients in hydroxyzine before taking the drug.
