What is a typical dosage of Emend?

A typical dosage of Emend (aprepitant) depends on whether the medication is being used to prevent side effects of chemotherapy or surgery. For nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy, adults should take 125 mg. one hour before receiving chemotherapy treatment, and then 80 mg. on the two mornings after the procedure. To prevent nausea and vomiting before surgery, adults should take 40 mg. three hours before surgery. These are the typical doses; your doctor will determine the proper dose for you based on your condition and medical history.
