What is Zofran?

Zofran (ondansetron) is a prescribed medication that blocks the chemicals in your body that trigger nausea and vomiting. Your doctor may prescribe it for you to prevent the nausea and vomiting that can occur after surgery or after cancer treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation. It may be prescribed for adults, including pregnant women, and for children over age three. Your doctor may prescribe it for other causes of nausea and vomiting or for other purposes as well.
