What is ondansetron?

Ondansetron is a prescription medication used by people undergoing chemotherapy, radiation or surgery. As a part of a drug class known as anti-emetics, ondansetron blocks chemicals in the body that cause nausea and vomiting. Ondansetron comes in several forms that you take by mouth, including tablets, disintegrating tablets, liquid and injection.
