What is nabilone?

Nabilone treats nausea and vomiting that result from chemotherapy treatments. Nabilone is used only when other treatments have been tried but failed to relieve these side effects of cancer treatments. Nabilone is in the cannabinoids class of medications. The drug stops nausea and vomiting by acting upon the section of the brain that controls these responses. The medication is taken orally in capsule form. Nabilone is manufactured under the brand name Cesamet.
