What should I know about ondansetron hydrochloride Injection?

Before beginning ondansetron hydrochloride treatment, talk to your doctor about all allergies you have, especially if you are allergic to medications similar to ondansetron hydrochloride, such as dolasetron (Anzemet), palonosetron (Aloxi), or granisetron (Kytril). Tell your doctor if you have the disorder phenylketonuria or Long QT syndrome, because ondansetron hydrochloride contains the amino acid phenylalanine and may affect these conditions. Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, if you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding before beginning ondansetron hydrochloride treatment. This medication has not been well tested in pregnant women, and it remains unclear if the medication can be passed from mother to infant through breast milk. Talk to your doctor about risks and benefits of using this medication.
