What are the side effects of alosetron hydrochloride?

Some people may experience mild side effects that do not require medical attention unless they persists or becomes severe. These include:

  • mild stomach discomfort, bloating, nausea, burping with heartburn,
  • rectal hemorrhoids, bloating or gas, headache, and a skin rash.

Other side effects may be serious and require immediate medical attention. Stop taking this medication if you develop constipation or experience an allergic reaction. Signs of an allergic reaction include hives, breathing problems, and facial swelling. Other serious side effects include new or worsening stomach pain, bleeding from your rectum or blood in your stools, and irregular heartbeat.
