Who should take Lantus?

Anyone with type 1 or type 2 diabetes over the age of six may take Lantus. Type 1 diabetes results when your pancreas is unable to make any insulin at all. Type 2 diabetes results when your pancreas produces insulin, but your body does not use it properly. Both types lead to hyperglycemia, a life-threatening condition.
