Who should not take glipizide?

Glipizide is prescribed to lower high blood sugar in people who have type 2 diabetes.
If you have type 1 diabetes, are allergic to any of the active ingredients in glipizide, or have diabetic ketoacidosis you should not take this medication. Your doctor will prescribe insulin instead.
