Who should not take Actos (pioglitazone)?

Actos (pioglitazone) does not treat type 1 diabetes (also known as juvenile diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes). This drug is not approved for use in children under the age of 18. This also may not be the drug for you if you have existing heart disease, congestive heart failure, or liver disease as this drug may worsen those conditions.
