What should I avoid while taking Amaryl?

You should avoid using alcohol while taking Amaryl (glimepiride), since it can worsen some of the side effects of this drug. Drinking alcohol while taking Amaryl can also cause flushing of the face, headache, nausea, vomiting, chest pain, blurred vision, difficulty breathing and other symptoms.

Because Amaryl may make your skin sensitive, wear protective clothing, sunglasses and sunscreen when you're outside, and limit your time in the sun.
