What should I avoid while taking Actoplus Met?

You should avoid drinking alcohol while taking Actoplus Met to avoid dangerous incidents of low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). In addition, excessive alcohol in combination with Actoplus Met can cause kidney problems. Because Actoplus Met may react adversely when taken with contrast dyes, you should avoid having an X-ray or CT scan that requires an injectable contrast dye. If you must have a procedure done, discuss with your doctor the protocol for stopping and re-starting your Actoplus Met. Nursing mothers should avoid breast-feeding while taking Actoplus Met.
