What are the side effects of PrandiMet?

The most common side effects of PrandiMet include diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and headache. These side effects will likely dissipate after taking PrandiMet for a short time. Hypoglycemia (low blood glucose) may also occur. A person taking PrandiMet should be aware of the symptoms of hypoglycemia, such as confusion, difficulty concentrating, blurred vision, weakness, hunger, sweating, unusual heart beat, or dizziness. Rare side effects include:

  • chest pain
  • sudden weakness or numbness
  • signs of liver damage, such as jaundice, loss of appetite, stomach pain, dark urine, and pale stools.

Seek emergency help for these rare side effects or for signs of an allergic reaction, marked by hives, itchy rash, breathing difficulties, and swelling in the face and mouth.
