Should my elderly parents take Onglyza?

Studies have not confirmed how well elderly patients tolerate the drug, but older people tend to have less efficient kidneys. That means they may be more sensitive to the drug or require a different dosage. Talk to your parent's doctor about their medical history, current medications and whether Onglyza is right for them.
