If I am pregnant, is it safe to use Glyset?

If you're pregnant or planning to become pregnant, talk to your doctor about whether you should take the diabetes drug Glyset (miglitol). It isn't known if this drug is safe during pregnancy, although in studies of lab animals, it didn't seem to harm developing fetuses. Because animals and humans are so different, it's best not to assume that Glyset will be safe during pregnancy.
