What should I know about Humalog Mix 50-50 before taking it?

Humalog Mix 50-50 users should tell their doctor if they have kidney, liver, nerve, adrenal, pituitary, or thyroid problems.

If you have diabetic ketoacidosis, need more than two injections of insulin daily, are fasting, or have high sodium levels or are on a low-salt diet, talk to your doctor before starting Humalog Mix 50-50.

You should not take this medication if you are allergic to it or any of its ingredients in order to avoid an allergic reaction. If you are pregnant, may become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before starting this medication, as the risk to developing fetus or nursing infant is unknown.

Never share your medication with someone else, even if you use different needles. There is a risk of transmitting bloodborne diseases if you share insulin vials.
