Is there a generic version of Novolog Flexpen?

Currently, there is no generic version of Novolog Flexpen (insulin aspart) available. The patent for Novolog Flexpen expires in October 2014. However, Novolog Flexpen is considered a biologic medication. Under current regulations, generic versions of biologic medications cannot be made in the United States.
