Is Humalog safe for pregnant or breastfeeding women?

In most cases Humalog is safe to use while you are pregnant. It is a category B drug, which means that it is not likely to be harmful if used during pregnancy. However, category B drugs have not had enough testing in pregnant women to prove they are safe, so there may be some risk.

Humalog is also considered safe for those women who are breastfeeding. However, it is always best to ask your doctor about possible risks of breastfeeding while taking any medication.
