How does Humulin R interact with other medications?

Interactions may occur with Humulin R and certain medications such as albuterol, clonidine, reserpine, guanethidine, and beta-blockers. Other known interactions include ACE inhibitors, birth control pills, corticosteroids, danazol, disopyramide, diuretics, estrogen, fibrates, fluoxetine, isoniazid, lithium, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), niacin, oral diabetes medicines, pentamidine, phenothiazines, progesterones, reserpine, salicylates, somatostatin analogs, somatropin, sulfonamide antibiotics, sympathomimetics, and thyroid hormones. There may be additional reactions that are not widely reported. You should tell your doctor all medicines you are taking, including prescriptions, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, and herbal supplements, before starting this medication in order to avoid an interaction.
