You should not take fluoxetine hydrochloride if you are allergic to fluoxetine or to any of its other ingredients. You should not take fluoxetine hydrochloride if you are taking thioridazine, due to the risk of life-threatening drug interactions. You should not take fluoxetine hydrochloride if you are taking MAO inhibitors or have taken them within the past two weeks.
