What is Tofranil used for?

Tofranil (imipramine) is part of a class of drugs called tricyclic antidepressants. Tofranil eases depression symptoms by raising the levels of certain brain chemicals. Doctors also prescribe Tofranil for children to treat bedwetting, although how the drug works for this purpose isn't fully understood.
