Cymbalta (duloxetine), an antidepressant, is also approved to relieve certain types of pain. These include:
  • tingling and discomfort caused by nerve damage from diabetes
  • stiffness and tenderness associated with fibromyalgia
  • chronic back and joint pain
Cymbalta belongs to a class of drugs known as a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs).
