What is clomipramine?

Clomipramine is used to treat the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). People with OCD have a form of anxiety that results in repeated thoughts and actions. For instance, some have an unnatural fear of germs, so they wash their hands over and over. Others who fear for their safety may check the locks on doors repeatedly. No one knows the cause of OCD, but some scientists believe it is due to irregularities in brain chemistry.
