Should my child take nortriptyline?

Your child may take nortriptyline if the doctor presctibes it. Nortriptyline is not indicated for use in children under six years of age. Studies have shown that children and young adults who took nortriptyline often thought about, planned or tried to commit suicide. Antidepressants change your mood, and some children cannot tolerate this change. Talk to your child's doctor about options to treat your child's depression or other mental illness.
