If I am pregnant, is it safe to use Remeron?

If you are pregnant, talk to your doctor about the risks and benefits of the antidepressant Remeron (mirtazapine). The drug has not been studied in pregnant women, but in rats, high doses raise the risk of miscarriage and low-birth-weight babies. Your doctor should prescribe this drug while you are pregnant only if you both believe that Remeron's benefit outweighs its potential risk to your developing fetus.
