Is it safe to take Savella if I am breastfeeding?

It's not clear whether the fibromyalgia medication Savella (milnacipran) is safe if you are breastfeeding. Savella has not been studied in nursing mothers, but animal research shows the drug passes into breast milk. If you are breastfeeding, this has the potential to harm your infant. Talk to your doctor about whether you should wean your baby before starting Savella or consider taking a different medication.
