What happens if I miss a dose of citalopram?

In the event that you forget to take a dose of citalopram at the scheduled time, take a look at the clock. If you are not too many hours past the original dose time, go ahead and take the missed dose now. If it is very nearly time for the next dose, simply skip the missed dose and take the next scheduled one. Never take extra citalopram to make up for a missed dose as this could cause dangerous overdosing problems. If you are not sure what to do, contact your physician.
