How soon after starting Remeron will my symptoms improve?

Most antidepressants, including Remeron (mirtazapine), can take four to six weeks to have a noticeable effect. Some people do feel their symptoms improve in as little as one week, but that is the exception rather than the rule. If, after a while, you and your doctor decide the drug is not helping you enough, he or she may decide to add another medicine to your treatment or switch you to a different antidepressant.
