Tridione is a prescription medication used to treat petit mal (absence) and epileptic seizures. This drug is generally used only when other medications used to treat seizures have not been effective, because Tridione has serious side effects. It can also cause birth defects if taken by pregnant women. Exactly how Tridione works to stop seizures is not known. Tridione is also known by the generic name trimethadione.
