Can I stop taking Phenytek whenever I want to?

Do not stop taking Phenytek (phenytoin) or change your dose on your own. Take the drug every day exactly as your doctor prescribes. If you have worrisome side effects, call your doctor, but continue to take the drug until your doctor tells you how to stop. Your seizures could get worse if you suddenly stop taking Phenytek or reduce or increase the dose on your own. If you wish to stop taking this drug, your doctor will probably gradually decrease your dose.
