What are the side effects of Dilantin-125?

Dilantin-125 (phenytoin suspension) causes a number of side effects. The most common side effects include: confusion, nervousness, slurring speech, coordination problems and difficulty speaking or breathing. Less common side effects include: eyelid spasms; shakiness in the limbs or extremities; uncontrolled movement of the tongue, lips, face or limbs; inability to move your eyes; or uncontrolled facial expressions.

Other reported side effects include: stomach pain, bleeding gums, chest pains and cold-like symptoms, as well as changes in heartbeat, unexplained bruising or bleeding, changes in stools or urine, rashes, jaundice and swollen glands. You may also have trouble sleeping. Let your doctor know if this or any other side effect begins to interfere with daily activities or worsens.
