How does Sabril interact with other medications or foods?

Sabril (vigabatrin) has known interactions with steroid medications such as prednisone, phenytoin, hydroxychloroquine, thioridazine, and clonazepam, as well as aspirin and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen, naproxen, and more. Other drugs, like peg-interferon, interferon-alpha, or methylprednisolone, may worsen eye problems with Sabril. Tell your doctor about previous or current smoking or drug use. Avoid alcohol, as it might limit the effectiveness of Sabril. In general, inform your doctor about all prescription or over-the-counter medications, vitamins, supplements, or herbs you are using, before starting on Sabril. The amount and timing of Sabril doses might need to be altered if there is a potential for drug interactions.
