How should I take Dilantin?

You should take Dilantin exactly as directed by your doctor. Typically, this will be one, two or three times a day depending on the dosage and the dosage form. The extended-release capsules should not be chewed, crushed or opened. The tablets must be chewed or crushed before being swallowed. The liquid suspension should be well shaken and measured with a medicine measuring device.
