Could strange changes in my son’s behavior be due to taking Topamax?

Topamax can cause side effects, including withdrawing from friends and family, depression, irritability, trouble sleeping or thinking or planning to kill himself. Talk with your son’s doctor if you think he is having any of these side effects. It’s important, however, that he not stop taking his Topamax without his doctor’s advice. Stopping Topamax suddenly could cause him to have seizures, even if he hadn’t had seizures before. If his doctor thinks stopping this medicine is right for your son, he will slowly decrease the dose so that he can safely stop taking it.
