Common side effects that occur when taking Angiomax (bivalirudin) include: back or pelvis pain, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, feeling nervous, headaches, fever, insomnia or pain at the injection site. Other side effects require medical attention. They include: sudden numbness or weakness on one side of the body; sudden headaches or confusion; leg swelling; uncontrolled bleeding; bloody or tarry stool; coughing up or vomiting blood; slow heart rate; high or low blood pressure; and urinating less than usual or not at all.
