When your child is taking warfarin, he can still play normal childhood games, go to recess and take gym class. However, he should avoid contact sports like football and hockey, in which he may be likely to fall down or hurt himself. He should wear a helmet when he rides his bike. Also, you should be sure he always wears a seatbelt when he’s riding in the car. If he does get hurt, call his doctor or the emergency room right away, even if he doesn’t seem to be bleeding. He might be bleeding inside.
