Is Lovenox safe for pregnant or breast-feeding women?

Although Lovenox is believed to be safe to an unborn baby, some forms of Lovenox contain an ingredient that could be harmful to newborns. Since it is still unknown whether Lovenox can be passed through breast milk, you should let your doctor know if you’re breast-feeding, pregnant, or have plans to become pregnant while taking Lovenox. In addition, if you are going to use Lovenox while pregnant, tell your doctor if you have a mechanical heart valve. Pregnant women who have mechanical heart valves may have an increased risk for developing blood clots while taking Lovenox.
