Can I use medicinal herbs or supplements while taking Coumadin?

Tell your pharmacist about any dietary supplements you use before taking Coumadin. While many products may be advertised as "natural," they can increase risks, such as internal bleeding, associated with Coumadin. Be sure to tell your pharmacist if you take a dietary supplement that contains any of the following: bromelain, coenzyme Q10, cranberry, danshen, dong quai, garlic, Ginkgo biloba, ginseng, and St. John's Wort.
