Studies have shown a reduced risk of deep vein thrombosis for patients who took Arixtra versus those who took a placebo. In a recently published study, those who took Arixtra had a lower risk of developing not only deep vein blood clots but also clots in the lungs, and had a lower risk of serious adverse effects than the placebo group.
