Imipenem-cilastatin is intended for people with severe infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including pneumonia, gynecological infections, blood or bone infections or urinary tract infections. In addition, some skin infections, stomach infections, joint infections and heart valve infections may be treated with this medication.
