Who should not take ertapenem injection?

You should not take ertapenem injection if you are allergic to it, any ingredient in it or to other carbapenem, penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. You should not use this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Ertapenem should not be administered to patients with a seizure disorder or who are at risk for seizures.
