What foods or other drugs affect Zotrim?

Zotrim (sulfamethoxazole-trimethoprim tablet and phenazopyridine tablet) may interact with diuretics (water pills), seizure medications, blood thinners and ACE inhibitors (for blood pressure).
Zotrim may disrupt the metabolism of phenytoin by the liver. Zotrim should not be used with cyclosporine in liver transplant patients. There are no reported interactions with food. Before taking Zotrim, tell your doctor all prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vitamins and herbal supplements you are taking.

Zotrim for urinary tract infections should not be confused with the OTC weight loss product also called Zotrim.
