Does imipenem-cilastatin injection interact with other drugs?

Imipenem-cilastatin injection can cause increased metabolism of penicillins and cephalosporins. It can interact with other medications, including antiviral medications, such as ganciclovir; bronchodilators, such as theophylline; or seizure medications, such as valproic acid. Imipenem-cilastatin injections can also interact with the immune suppression drug cyclosporine. Do not begin taking any new prescription or over-the-counter medications, supplements or vitamins without first talking to your doctor or pharmacist about possible drug interactions with imipenem-cilastatin.
