How does Cubicin treat bacterial skin infections?

The active ingredient in Cubicin, daptomycin, works by interfering with the bacterial cell wall by indirectly inhibiting the production of proteins, DNA and RNA. This kills the susceptible bacteria, especially those that typically cause skin infections. It is administered by injection.
