Clindamycin topical solution's common side effects are headaches and skin problems, such as irritation, dryness, peeling, burning, itching, redness, pimples and excess oil. These generally do not require a doctor's visit unless they become severe. More serious side effects include: stomach cramping, diarrhea, changes in bowel movements and antibiotic-associated colitis. Serious allergic reactions, such as labored breathing, chest pain or facial swelling may occur. If you are using clindamycin topical solution and experience these or other worrisome side effects, you should see a doctor as soon as possible.
