Clindamycin topical solution's common side effects are headaches and skin problems, such as irritation, dryness, peeling, burning, itching, redness, pimples and excess oil. These generally do not require a doctor's visit unless they become severe. More serious side effects include: stomach cramping, diarrhea, changes in bowel movements and antibiotic-associated colitis. Serious allergic reactions, such as labored breathing, chest pain or facial swelling may occur.
