Can my husband have wine with his dinner when taking Zyvox?

While your husband is taking Zyvox, he should avoid drinking red wines such as Chianti, because they have high levels of an amino acid known as tyramine. He should also avoid beer (including alcohol-free beer) because it also has a lot of tyramine. Drinking beverages that contain tyramine while your husband is taking Zyvox could raise his blood pressure to dangerous levels.
