How does amikacin interact with other medications or foods?

Amikacin should not be taken with cidofovir. The medication also may interact with cisplatin, amphotericin, bacitracin, colistin or diuretics (also known as water pills). Amikacin can interact with other antibiotics. It is possible that amikacin may be affected by other vitamins, supplements, substances or over-the-counter medications as well, so be sure to inform your doctor about what you are taking. There are no specific foods or drinks that are listed as unacceptable with amikacin.
