What is clioquinol?

Clioquinol is a topical antifungal medication used to treat skin infections, such as athlete's foot, eczema, jock itch and ringworm. Clioquinol is available as a 3% cream under the brand name Iodo Plain. Clioquinol is more available as a cream combined with hydrocortisone to treat redness, itching, irritation and swelling of the infection site. Depending on the infection, clioquinol-hydrocortisone treatment may last between two to four weeks.
