What are the side effects of mupirocin?

Mupirocin may cause the following side effects: swelling, burning, stinging or redness of the skin; rash, itching or pain in the skin; skin dryness; nausea; headaches. Call your doctor immediately if you experience the following rare side effects: infection of the wound site; dizziness; abdominal pain; mouth and lip sores. Because other side effects may occur, you should notify a doctor about any new symptoms to determine if the symptoms are related to use of mupirocin.
